Even though I make brushes for Procreate, I’ve often been asked which other brush creators I like and who’s sets I use.
There are several, actually.
Now, some of these brush creators you may already know. At least if you’ve been using Procreate for a while. However, if you’re new to this fantastic software for your iPad, you may be wondering how to expand on your art skills with digital brushes.
This post is for you 🙂
Before I begin, I feel absolutely comfortable recommending my own Procreate brushes. Reason being, I work very tediously to create new and useful brushes that make digital painting easier for beginners and advanced alike.
However, I would be remiss not to mention that there are many other brush creators who have been doing this a lot longer than I have. So below I will mention a few and why I like their work.
So here we go…
Lisa is a very talented and popular artist who not only makes adorable art, she creates really great brushes for Procreate too. She is very supportive of other artists, especially beginners, and her brushes really help making art…easy.
I love Nathan’s work and the fact that he’s so invested in helping others expand on their own art skills. He offers a variety of brushes, canvases etc that not only make creating better art easy, but lots of fun too.
If you’re looking for a set of brushes for pretty much every need, Seamless Team has them. I love the quality of their brushes and tend to go back to them often.
Sadie has some of the best brushes for Procreate. Her brushes are (in my opinion) more classic in style as she offers Oils, Gouache and Charcoal sets. Perfect for when you are just starting out with digital painting in Procreate.
This brush creator also has a lot of beautiful graphics sets but I absolutely love her Soft Watercolor brushset. If you’re a lover of digital watercolor painting, this set is a must-have.
I particularly like her Realistic Watercolor set but she offers many other great sets as well.
Pretty much any set you buy from this creator, you will probably love. She’s not only a talented artist, but her brushes are truly unique and really great to use for your own digital art.
The above is a pretty short list, to be honest, as there are lots of other great brush makers out there. I’m probably forgetting a few other favorites, but I just can’t list them all.
Just remember you can end up spending a lot of money buying brushes (it’s sort of addicting!) so choose carefully and search for discounts where available.
My best suggestion? Make a visit to Design Cuts as most (not all but most) have shops on the marketplace and Design Cuts is great at offering discounts so you’re not breaking the bank. They have a special section just for Procreate brushes, so grab a cup of coffee and peruse.
If you have any favorite brush creators, feel free to add them by commenting on this post. Would love to hear about them!
Until then…
